Product overview We have received a 1981 Gibson Les Paul Standard '80, the first "return to the roots" Les Paul from the early '80s 'Heritage' series! In the early 1980s, when the popularity of vintage guitars was on the rise, Gibson aimed to return to the original (1959 Les Paul Standard) and produced a reissue model. By adopting a small headstock, Grover tuners, a 17-degree headstock angle, and a one-piece mahogany back, it marked the beginning of a departure from the '70s Les Pauls, exemplified by the pancake construction. While it was still not quite satisfying as a "vintage reproduction" and received some criticism from fans, it was a step that led to the later '59 Vintage', 'Les Paul Reissue', and 'Historic Collection'. The hard rock sound created by the mahogany body and New PAF pickups is truly a textbook example of a Les Paul. Why not take this opportunity to get your hands on one?
