Product overview A full-fledged ST model from Yamaha in the ’80s! By the ’80s, Yamaha had significantly expanded its ST lineup. Whereas there had previously been only about three grades, they now offered a diverse lineup of six models, ranging from the top-of-the-line “ST-1000M(R)” to the entry-level “ST-360R(M).” Furthermore, every model was available in two versions: one with a maple fingerboard and one with a rosewood fingerboard.This instrument is the rosewood fingerboard version of the “ST-500,” the third-tier model from the bottom. Unlike the entry-level models, it features an alder body, making it a guitar with specifications closer to those of the flagship models. Of course, all Yamaha models from this era were made in Japan. Although often overshadowed by brands like Greco and Aria, this guitar is highly popular among connoisseurs as a “Japan-vintage.”
