In August 2011, Gibson was raided by the US federal government on suspicion of violating the Lacey Act. At that time, rosewood and ebony in the factory were seized, and various substitute materials were used from the end of 2011 to 2012. This instrument uses baked maple for the fretboard, which was initially disliked, but its "hard and clear sound characteristics, like ebony," captured the hearts of core fans, and soon more guitarists began to seek out models from this period.
